This directory is a collaborative response to a direct ask from our partners and practitioners.
The collective vision for this Healing Artist Directory is to:
• connect our communities to culturally-affirming and trauma-informed services that are affordable, available and accessible
• support the ongoing collaboration, collective care, and sustainability of our BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ healing arts practitioners
Since 2021, WSM has been partnering with a growing community of local practitioners who offer a variety of ancestral healing arts and movement services at our Community Care Clinics and online workshops.
The practitioners expressed the need for an online Healing Artist directory for the following reasons:
• “To help all of us thrive, uplift ancestral practices, and increase access to healing services by and for women/GNC folks of color.”
• “To support each other and work together to provide healing to our communities most impacted by state violence.”
Thus, the project to launch an online directory was born. We hope this directory will increase accessibility and safety for our community as well as uplift the work of our practitioners and their healing arts practices. Not only will it help our community members connect more easily and directly to practitioners, but also, it will support the practitioners in connecting to each other to build new avenues for collaboration, visibility, business development and growth for all to thrive.
In 2025, we contracted 15 healing arts practitioners, supporting them with a total of $33,000 in living wages, and formed a Healing Artist Network to support our ongoing collaboration together--including community care clinics, and mobile clinics for on-site staff wellness.
The directory serves to integrate, expand, and amplify the connections formed by our Healing Artist Network, and to create new opportunities that are seeded, strengthened, and nurtured by it. Thus, the directory not only will be a visual representation of the ecosystem created through Healing Artist Network; it will also be a living, breathing web/map for deepening the connections within it.

I am a seeker of truth and lover of nature and what it provides to nurture us as humans. A Dietitian by trade with many years of experience as a cook. My curiosity for food opened the doors to a mirage of cultures, flavors and ingredients from around the globe, allowing me to become culturally competent about how cultures nourish themselves. I am currently holding the title as a Patient Nutrition Manager at a local hospital, serving the community in which I live. My dream is to live in a environment in where we all have access to food and knowledge to make choices that are of benefit for our bodies.
